The Tidewalk

A drowned causeway from the fen to the first isle, dry for an hour either side of low tide.

A closer look

At the threshold

The causeway becomes a road by degrees, one wet stone following another out of the water. Pools remain between its higher sections. From the middle, both shores look reachable, while the sea continues making its own arrangements around your feet.

People and discoveries

Crabs on the stones, drowned in the pools, the only way to the Harbour without a boat

A planned rule of this place

The tide clock is real: on the causeway when the sea comes in you swim or you drown, and the drowned rise with the water.
