The Kraken's Shoals

Shallows between the outer isles where the water goes black without warning.

A closer look

At the threshold

The outer shallows should be easy to read: pale sand, coral and clear water. A patch of blackness interrupts that simple picture. It has the wrong scale for a passing cloud and makes an anchored boat feel suddenly very small.

The kraken, once, if you anchor there at night; the best pearls in the isles

A planned rule of this place

Anchoring is a choice: pearls by day, the kraken by night, and a boat it takes is a boat you replace at the Harbour.
